Richard Pryor: Discovering Ancient Egypt (Khemet)

The Richard Pryor Show was an American comedy-variety show starring Richard Pryor. It premiered on NBC on Tuesday, September 13, 1977 at 8pm. Pryor filmed only four episodes of the show.

In this skit, Pryor appears with a team of European archaeologists in Egypt (1909). In a lost tomb, he discovers the Book of Life, which reveals that Black people were the creators of the greatest civilization on earth. However, the skit ends with Pryor being locked in by the European archaeologists who does not want the knowledge he has discovered to be shared with the rest of the world.
