African Holistic Health

African Holistic Health by Llaila O. Afrika is an all-natural healing reference guide on how to heal yourself of common diseases.

Dr. Afrika contends that good health does not belong exclusively to any culture or race, but is a human right and a product of nature. He has used herbal and other holistic treatments exclusively since the early 1970s. He is recognized as the leading advocate of health and healthy living in the African-American communities in the US.

Dr. Afrika is endorsed by many health practitioners including Ralph Richardson, M.D., Rudolph Ballentine, M.D., Carole Barnes M.D., Jewel Pookram, M.D., J. Sneddon, Queen Afua, Melanie Stevenson, N.D., and Dick Gregory.

“In this book, I have given the foundation of African holistic health, diet, and dis-ease treatment. However, the treatments given have incorporated many different stages of treatment awareness… African holistic (ethnomedicine) is too vast a science and art to cover in one book. Therefore, this book is but a brief introduction to the cultural language called health. In my effort to be brief, many valuable concepts had to be reduced and modified. Modifications were done with the utmost scrutiny and with the realization that thousands of years of African health wisdom and African historical ignorance cannot be erased with any book… This book is largely a response to the many questions asked by people during my nutritional counseling and at my lectures. It represents my intense desire to provide African-centred health information for Black children. Furthermore, it represents the frustration and despair I have suffered in my attempt to get African-centred information on the subject of African holistic health.”  –from, the Foreword.

Praise for African Holistic Health

“A great amount of research in a highly organized manner. It is of vital importance to the African-American and the world community. This information is essential for professionals and everyone to utilize in lifestyle and to self.” –William Richardson, M.D., Atlanta Clinic for Preventive Medicine, GA)

African Holistic Health, written by Dr. Llaila O. Afrika is our first intense primer to awaken us from our deep sleep. It reviews and explains the major healing techniques and principles, which if studied by continental and African-American and their descendants, will quite definitely begin to awaken the dormant genes within our cells that contain the ancient knowledge of how to use light properly. It will also reveal to us how to redevelop the appropriate technology, which will affect immediate cure instead of disease…” –Dr. Jewel Pookrum, M.D., Ph,D.

“Dr. Afrika is by far the most important Advocate for Holistic Living in America today!” –Dr. Sam Chekwa
